Cody Rhodes confronts John Cena in an intense face-to-face confrontation.
Cody starts by acknowledging that John can make fun of him for a lot of things—his lisp, his time as Stardust, getting booed in the company he helped build, and even the arm tattoo on his neck.
John Cena, not backing down, fires back, saying he will bury Cody at WrestleMania, just like he’s buried everyone else in the past. He accuses Cody of having an inflated ego and claims he’s only managed to ride on Cena’s coattails—essentially acting as his chauffeur. John mocks Cody for relying on lazy gimmicks to get the crowd to sing along to his theme song.
John continues, stating that Cody doesn’t look like him, doesn’t act like him, and sure as hell doesn’t work like him. He vows to expose Cody as nothing more than an errand boy who got lucky, and promises to leave WrestleMania as the last real Champion.
Cody, calm yet resolute, responds that it was the fans who chose him, while John was the one handpicked by a former authority figure—one that "we don’t talk about anymore." He then admits that while John is still his hero, he's also a piece of shit—the same person who sold out to The Rock.
John attempts to strike Cody, but Cody anticipates the move, countering with The Cross Rhodes, taking Cena down in a shocking turn of events.
